The Norwich City branch represents around 400 employees of Norwich City Council. We hope you will find this site useful for information on our current campaigns, branch issues, your branch contacts and if you're not yet a member, why you should join today!

What is UNISON?

UNISON is Britain's second biggest union with more than 1.4 million members - people working in the public services, for private contractors providing public services and in the essential utilities. UNISON is a national, campaigning union and over three quarters of members are women.

The Norwich City UNISON Branch

The branch is represented by Branch Committee Officers, who focus on specific issues like international relations, welfare and learning. Workplace stewards are a member's first point of call for any enquiries and workplace contacts are well placed to ask about branch issues.

Branch activities include negotiating and campaigning on local issues such as enhanced payments, sickness schemes and annual leave, together with local policies and procedures that will help staff like lifelong learning. UNISON representatives provide invaluable advice and support - disciplinary and grievance procedures may be the last thing on your mind, but there may come a time when we are needed to help you.
