Pay Consultation Results

Norwich City Unison branch members have voted on the employer’s revised pay offer with an overwhelming majority of 93.6% voting to accept the offer. A high response was received with 42.5% of members responding to the consultation.

Branch secretary, Kevin O'Grady commented "This is a sign of the times.  With the financial difficulties our members are facing, it is not surprising that people have voted to accept the increase."

The Norwich City Unison branch launched the consultation following an improved pay offer from employers. To remind you, the employer’s revised offer is for (from 1 April 2009):

  • an increase of 1.25% on SCPs 4 to 10 inclusive.
  • an increase of 1.00% on SCPs 11 to 49 inclusive.
  • an increase from 20 to 21 days in minimum annual leave for employees with less than five years’ service.
  • By 1 December 2009, the NJC will produce joint guidance on best practice in handling redundancies.

The consultation closed on Friday 21 August and the results will be passed to the regional and national offices to be collated with those from other branches nationwide. The Unison NJC Committee will then consider the outcome and decide its course of action.

We will of course update you as soon as there is any news.
